Yellow-headed Leafhopper

Brunotartessus fulvus

Description:

This 8 mm long leafhopper had a pale yellow head and beautiful brownish purple wings. The upper half of the eyes were pale and the lower half was dark , merging with the lower part of the head. The first pair of legs had short stout spikes.

Habitat:

Spotted on a Eucalyptus tree in a nature reserve.

Notes:

I spotted a similar leafhopper last year but was not abe to get a close-up of the head. Family Cicadllidae Subfamily Tartessinae
