snake skin

Description:

This is a tiny shed (molted) snake skin. Most of the length was balled up (photos 1 & 4) and could not be unrolled for measurement. The short leg of the loop visible best in photo 2 was about 45 mm long. Two species of arboreal snakes previously observed in this yard were Dendrelaphis sp. ( http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/692... ) and Boiga irregularis (no PN spotting from this location).

Habitat:

Observed in a beach mahogany (Calophyllum inophyllum) tree in a large semi-urban yard & garden near a disturbed patch of remnant forest.
