Slug Moth Caterpillar

Description:

Looked like a tiny piece of pine foliage until it started to walk! It was about half an inch long. I will try to post more photos another time, internet connection here is poor, taken 2 days to try to post this one. Limacodidae family.

Habitat:

Montane rainforest about 5,000'.

Notes:

It was on a rotting wooden post on the Burong hill track between the road and river.

Before joining Project Noah, I never realized there are so many "spiky" caterpillars - nice spotting!

Amazing find, I used to find many of these in my neighbourhood when I was young. I was also silly enough to learn the hard way by touching them.
