Eriophorum (Cottongrass, Cotton-grass or Cottonsedge) is a genus of about 25 species of flowering plants in the family Cyperaceae

Description:

White puffs of hare's-tail cotton grass is not a grass, but a sedge.

Habitat:

Grows in the wet peat soils of bogs and alpine areas. They are found throughout the temperate Northern Hemisphere in acid bog habitats
