Western Kingbird

Tyrannus verticalis

Description:

This is the Western King bird. In the North American region these types of flycatchers are known as the Tyrannical Flycatcher. This one had mostly gray feathers with a dull yellow breast and a somewhat black mask. They are great at catching bugs on the wing. This species isn't that big but a good sized medium Flycatcher.

Habitat:

often times seen on fences in the country but are also seen in the urban areas sitting on telephone wires and light posts.
