Southern Leopard Frog

Lithobates sphenocephalus

Description:

The largest one I have ever seen. I saw it right in the middle of the trail. When I approached, it hopped into the grasses near the salt marsh

Habitat:

On a birding trail next to salt marsh. On the other side of the trail opposite the salt marsh was a small, presumably freshwater pond
