Austrovenus stutchburyi


The common cockle, Austrovenus stutchburyi, is a shallow-burrowing clam of the family Veneridae. It is found in soft mud to fine sand on protected beaches and enclosed shores around the North and South Islands, Stewart Island and the Chatham Islands.
