Twirling Cosmet Moth

Description:

Cosmopterigidae Heinemann & Wocke, 1876 (Cosmet Moths), are small moths with narrow wings whose tiny larvae feed internally on the leaves, seeds, stems, etc. of their host plants. There are about 1,500 described species. The family is most diverse in the Australian and Pacific region with about 780 species. This cosmet moth has black wings with blue bands, twirls around many times before doing its head stand. Its body length is just about 7mm.

Habitat:

Backyard garden.
