Chestnut-backed Chickadee

Poecile rufescens

Description:

Under 5" in length these small birds are in my opinion the cutest little birds. Like most Chickadees they have a black cap and chin with white sides of the faces. But these also have a chestnut color on their backs and sometimes on their flanks, or they can be grey. Chest and belly are pale color. Very quick birds that forage in the trees along with other small birds like nuthatches and bushtits.

Habitat:

Can be found deciduous and coniferous forests, forests.
