Tree Snail

Description:

A Tree Snail with a blueish-black body. The shell is elongate, brown, spotted and about 2 mm in length.

Habitat:

Found at night, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico, 2,200 meters. In case you've ever wondered, San Cristobal de Las Casas gets its name from the Spanish Friar that worked in the early town in favor of the Indian populations. His name was Bartolomé de Las Casas. There is a statue in his honor at the entrance to the city.
