Ánade real

Description:

In the males the head is brilliant green and is separated by a white collar from the rest of the body. The chest is color brown. females are brownish with pots. Adults lenght is 57 cm.

Habitat:

I found thus individual in the river Segura, at Murcia center. He was in a hill on the water covered by river vegetacion (cañas). They prefer living in backwaters with dense vegetation, but they also put the nests in rivers, including human settlements.
