Lecanodiaspis sardoa
Coccoidea. Female covered by a convex and elongated elliptic covert. 2-2.5 mm long, 1.5 mm wide. The female lay the eggs inside this covert and remains with them until they hatch. The larvae leave through a small hole at the back. The larvae are oval shaped, dark yellow coloured. They can be seen in the first picture. These coccoidea produce a black substance that covers the plant. They can kill the plant
Usually on Cistus ladaniferus and Helianthemum squamatum. Spotted on Cistus ladaniferus already black and almost dead due to these coccoidea
