Abrus precatorius.
(Kunnikkuru) Also called “Coral bead vine” or “rosary pea”, it is a leguminous plant and a perennial climber on trees, shrubs and hedges. Seeds are used as beads and in percussion instruments and traditionally used to weigh jewels in India. Seeds are toxic due to the presence of abrin. Nevertheless its roots, leaves and fruits are used in medicine in combination with other plants.
The plant is native to Indonesia, grows in tropical and subtropical areas of the world where it has been introduced. It has a tendency to become weedy and invasive where it has been introduced. (Details from http://www.flickr.com/photos/vsramachand...)
