The Green Bottle Fly or Blow Fly (Family Calliphoridae). The female lays her eggs in meat, fish, animal corpses, infected wounds of humans or animals, and excrement. The larvae feed on decomposing tissue. It is not a nice fly to find in the kitchen. It has great medical, forensic and veterinary importance in many parts of the world, especially in areas important for sheep.
