A deep reddish-brown beetle about 13 mm long. The small head appears to be flattened to a semi-lunar shape ( but I could be mistaken!). Elytra had fine ridges.

This is the best match I could find for an ID. From the family Scarabaeidae These beetles seem to attract mites - see reference link Family: Scarabeidae Subfamily: Melolonthinae Tribe: Scitalini
