Orange Palm Dart Butterfly

Description:

Tiny bright golden orange butterfly with some black/dark markings mostly visible on upper side of wings, black eyes, antennae tipped with black. Very triangular shape to insect especially when resting. Larvae are pale green and banded.

Habitat:

Found in Queensland & NSW, but has also been found in Victoria, WA and other areas after introduction. Prefers habitat around palm tree fronds. This one near paddock dam not far from planted palms & native reeds.
