Cladonia floerkeana
Cladonia is one of the showiest of filigree lichens of the reindeer moss type. These are associated with the northern and southern hemispheres. These British soldiers are named for their red caps (fruiting bodies) of pinhead size atop battalions of greenish gray stalks.
Deyaying wood, on peat, and on the crust of soil baked for years in the sun. Places too infertile to support taller plants that would shade them out.

Gerardo. Non flowering plants are tough to identify. I was happy that this one is easy to identify with the pretty red.
Very nice series :)
