Description:

6-12 inches tall. wiry plants, tall. Leaves slender, toothed, held straight out (pressed to stem when dry), with long green ridges on upper surface; 4-sided spore cse (covered by hairy hood until mature), at top of long stalk; plants witout spore cses may have yellow "flower buds."

Habitat:

Woods, edges of bogs.
