Treehopper nymphs and adult

Family Membracidae, Metcalfiella sp.

Those shiny spirals are actually the reflection of my light ring in the nymphs's liquid excretions. In the second photo it is possible to see the proud mama!

Thank you to all that liked and commented on this one. It is very nice to know that I can still grab your attention to my little wonders... And thank you Karen for choosing it for SOTD again. It is a real honor for me.

Parabéns, Sergio. Eu vi apenas um adulto Metcalfiella, e ele não era muito bonito, mas eu gosto de suas grandes pernas peludas.

Well, I don't want to disapoint you girls, but those shiny spirals are actually the reflection of my light ring in the nymphs liquid excretions...

I notice that also...lovely tails.

LaurenZarate 7 years ago

What odd structures some of them have on their tails….
