A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
This is an unidentified planthopper of the family Flatidae. The group is cosmopolitan in distribution. Adults of some species are brightly colored and easily identified but others require the use of ID keys and dissection.
Spotted in a large semi-urban yard & garden next to a disturbed patch of remnant lowland forest.

Oh yes, there are some beautiful species here! Thanks
Hey a nicely coloured one. Our flatids are all so boringly monochromatic.
