About 12mm long. Broad, short, flat, forward-pointing rostrum. Pale, rough stripe along forward margin of wing cases?

Ha! I'm surprised you even wanted to go further than subfamily. Beetles are the most diverse insects and weevils are the most numerous group of beetles. Weevils rule OK! Thanks anyway DDD... I'll look further tomorrow.
Looks like a Broad-nosed Weevil, Entiminae and Naupactus could be a matching candidate. But this genus is enormous!! Closest guess is Naupactus verecundus or Naupactus ruizi?, without being that sure. Same procedures as every ID: Verify!
