Cyperus esculentus
Long, slender, shiny green leaves without hairs. Triangular stem. Single stem which produces spikelets at the ends where the flowers are produced. Flowers are yellow. Produces tubers which are edible.
Suburban backyard garden.
Considered an invasive agricultural weed in some places but is also grown as a crop. Found growing invasively in our garden when we weren't weeding regularly.
