Northern Harrier

Circus cyaneus

Notes:

This is the only harrier species in North America. The female was harrassing the Gyrfalcon in spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/174... and was the reason the falcon finally left his hunting perch. I decided the harrier was protecting her winter feeding territory. There was a male harrier around this area too. I wonder if they stay paired in the winter? Must look into it!!
