Dendropsophus ebraccatus
I found a chorus of beautiful male Dendropsophus ebraccatus in roadside pond calling out into the rainforest night. The frogs started calling an hour or so after sundown and were perched three to five feet above the pond in the overhanging vegetation.
A small pond in a tropical garden, surrounded by primary lowland rainforest, Osa peninsula, southwestern Costa Rica
There were a dozen or so Leptodeira septentrionalis, Cat-eyed snakes, patiently waiting around the pond for frog eggs to be laid or for froglets to emerge from the pond.

Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
