Gypaetus barbatus
The magnificent Lammergeier or Bearded Vulture is a montane species occurring in scattered locations across Europe, Asia and Africa's highest mountains. The most southern population occurs in the high Drakensgerb Mountains of Lesotho and South Africa where these images were taken. The first image shows a dramatic scene of an adult Lammergeier attacking a juvenile.
