Average size tree squirrel eating pine cones.


Mixed forests consisting mainly of pines, cherry, bamboo, etc. Squirrel here is eating pine cones. Warm to cool place. Altitude: 1,700 m.


This squirrel was spotted on the pine tree next to our house. It's still late winter - early spring and there is no fruits to eat for the desperate squirrel, therefore it's resorting to eat these oily and smelly cones!
