Long Horn Fairy Moth

Description:

For National Moth Week, an exquisite little moth about 8 mm long with very long antennae with the lower half metallic blue-black and hairy and the upper half bare and white. It moved its antennae all over the place. The head is red, the thorax gold and there are metallic orange and blue bands on the base of the upper wings.. The legs are orange and black with striped tarsi. Family Adelidae.

Habitat:

Flitting around on leaves in deep shade, Huasteca Forest, Edward James Surrealism Park, Xilitla.
