Beetle

Pelidnota strigosa

Description:

This is twice the size of the "June Beetle". These measure just over an inch long. They are prolific at the end of the rainy season. I rarely see them during the day. This one was spotted at night near a street lamp.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 5 months into the 6 month rainy season.
