Veiled Stinkhorn

Phallus indusiatus

Description:

I smelled this mushroom long before I saw it while on a night walk. It was within 20 feet of a stream at the Maipaima Eco Lodge, Guyana. In the morning I went back to get more photos and the veil was dark and wilted to almost nothing.

I was surprised to find this mushroom, and equally surprised at how fast it lost its looks. Thanks for the nice comments.
