Found this little guy on my fig tree. There was the carcass of a similar creature on one of the figs.
Coreidae, Coreinae, Anisoscelini, Leptoglossus zonatus.

Unfortunately I know very little else about insects but there are many here who do and I'm sure one of them will help eventually but as they are all volunteers it may take some time.

The "carcase" (both spelling versions are correct) you refer to would more likely be an exoskeleton which your insect may have just crawled out of. Insects (arthropods) have a different life cycle to mammals and they also vary between themselves.
