Junonia genoveva (Cramer, 1780).

Description:

Upperside is brown; wide forewing band is white difussed with brown or orange; large eyespot is edged with brown internally. Lower eyespot on forewing and upper eyespot on hidewing are about the same size. Underside of hindwing is brown; median band is fairly straight. From nigrossufusa is very dark brown; forewing band is dark orange or lacking. Wing spam: 1 3/4 - 2 1/4 ( 4.5 - 5.7 cm).

Habitat:

Open tropical lowlands including fields, bruslands, sandy islands. Southern United States, Mexico, Central America to Argentina.

Notes:

Presents a quick and fleeting flight, it is very worried and warned.
