Willow warbler

Phylloscopus trochilus

Description:

This is a very lively bird, smaller than a sparrow and seen in a small, lively and surprisingly noisy group - not shy at all, they endured my presence for some 20 minutes without trying to hide. Olive green above, and yellowish bellow, with a distinguished yellow sourcil.

Habitat:

Coastal heaths and shrublands in Brittany, another protected zone, in periphery of a well visited village and popular beaches and popular walking paths through shrubland.

Notes:

I expect this one to be the common European subspecies P. trochilus trochilus; interesting to compare it with another subspecies (P. t. yakutensis) I spotted in Namibia recently (https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/16...).
