Panellus stipticus
This mushroom had an unusual and beautiful wavy margin. The cap was tannish pink and velvety to the touch. The gills were brown, crowded, forked, and had short gills present. The stipe was whitish and fuzzy.
Growing on the ground in a mixed, but mostly pine forest.
This mushroom has reportedly been used as a blood thickening agent (styptic). Also, it has luminescent gills that emit a dull yellow glow.

No, unfortunately I didn't. I was camping when I found this - it was growing on the side of a gorge that I scurried down so I could get a shot.
Did you get a spore print by any chance?
It was so unusual and I didn't recognize it at all - I just relied on Mushroom Observer for the ID. Especially with the margin looking like that - so odd and wavy.
I can't say that I've ever seen P. stipticus look like this! :o I've always seen it with the stipe attached laterally and with the cap shaped more like a shell!
