I love these flowers. In Virginia, they bloom in early spring. Soon thereafter, the more familiar (in our area at least) bluet (Houstonia caerulea) blooms, and Spring is here! Those bluets (what USDA calls azure bluet) have larger flowers, baby blue with a yellow center. Based on where you spotted these, you should see the larger bluets soon.
