Black Racer

Description:

Feisty Racer I've seen a few different times in the same general area. About 4-ft in length, with solid black coloration except for it's white belly.

Habitat:

This one was found on the banks of the Hidden Lake at Enterprise Nature Park in Ooltewah.

Notes:

Enterprise Nature Park is crawling with Black Racers. I've seen more Racers there than any other species. Usually spotted around mid-day; they will often flee instead of striking a defensive posture. This one presumably has a nearby burrow because I've seen it in the same spot multiple times.
