Nocturnal Blowfly

Chrysomia sp.

Description:

Green blue metallic fly approx the size of a house fly although a little more stocky in build. Large dull-red eyes. Very active

Habitat:

Under street lighting inside a dimly-lit public phone booth among numerous other night flying creatures. I just realised I should include an image of the booth as few will know what I am talking of. I will do that tonight

Notes:

The images are of a fly on acrylic or perspex window and a perspex light fitting. I was unable to decide if this specimen was an Oriental Latrine Fly (Chrysomya megacephala) or a Bluebottle (Chrysomya saffranea) or a large Greenbottle (Chrysomya rufifacies)
