African Cheetah

Description:

African Cheetah - fastes land animal with spped of 115 km/hour for few seconds. This cat is truly built for speed! Cheetahs are the only big cat that cannot roar. The can purr though and usually purr most loudly when they are grooming or sitting near other cheetahs. On this spot, there was group of 5 majectic cats at sunset in Kalahari Desert, close to Twee Rivieren Restcamp

Kalahari desert, sub-Saharan Africa

Notes:

The Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park comprises an area of over 3,6 million hectares – one of very few conservation areas of this magnitude left in the world. Name Kgalagadi come form Bushman's name for "thrstland"
