Stiped Marsh Frog

Limnodynastes peronii

Description:

small brown frog with black stripe markings on its back and a tok..tok..tok... call. Its eggs look like whipped egg whites with little black chia seeds inside the bubbles.

Habitat:

The pond we built in our yard

Notes:

It took about 12 months for the frogs to arrive after we built the pond. Now we have heaps of tadpoles and the frogs are especially active after the rain with a wonderful chorus of tok tok toks ..so peaceful in that way only nature sounds seem to manage. I am writing and illustrating a family picture book to show other families how they can build a self sustaining frog pond habitat in their own urban setting.

Hello Megan Forward ,
Welcome to Project Noah. This is a site dedicated to wildlife; so you can share photos that you have taken of wildlife and engage with the PN community. Please do not take photos from the Internet or from others without permission.
You have an interesting first spotting but just a friendly word...please avoid showing faces or people if you can help it...cropping will work.
Enjoy the site. Keep posting. Have fun. See you around.Good luck with your book.
