Western Bluebird

Description:

Medium sized thrush with blue-and-rust color, straight thin bill and some what short tail. Can be found perching on tops branches of trees and then swooping down to catch insects. Males will have mostly blue with deeper rust chest that wraps around to the back and blue-grey belly. Females are more subdued grey with a faded look of blue and rust.

Habitat:

Woodland and open areas with trees to perch on.

Notes:

Spotted in trees near a creek.
