Richardia grandiflora
Very small flower (weed) growing in turf. Flower is 1/4 inch in diameter with 6 petals. Light lilac color with tiny striation or veining in the petals visible at very close inspection.
Turf area amongst St Augustine grass lawn. Not easily killed by standard lawn herbicides.
It does look like snow in March when it is in full bloom. It appears on many road right of ways and for a guy from the northern states it IS very reminiscent of patches of snow.
