Description:

•They are sometimes found in aggregations of closely packed individuals. •Eggs and sperm are liberated in into the water column and fertilisation is external. •The larvae are planktonic and pass through several developmental stages before undergoing metamorphosis into juvenile urchins.

Habitat:

Rocky reefs, under rocks, sandy or mudy substrates, seagrass meadows -I saw this sea urchin in Ilha Grande (RJ, Brazil)
