Description:

"One of the heaviest members of the weasel family. To keep warm in the cold waters of the Pacific ocean, sea otters have two layers of fur to help insulate their body.

Habitat:

range along the coastal waters of the northern pacific coast. The can often be seen resting along the upper canopy of the kelp forest where they will wrap themselves up to keep from drifting.

Notes:

The sea otter is a keystone species within the kelp forest.
