Purple Sunbird

Description:

Baby Purple Sunbird Short, dark, square tail feathers suggests she is a young purple sunbird (although I could be wrong). She is grey-brown with a yellow breast.

Habitat:

Suburban garden, Gachibowli, Andhra Pradesh

Notes:

Found on the road, very weak and unable to fly. Has thrived on diluted honey and is now beginning to fly. I am now trying to teach her that flowers are a source of food.

Awww! Good Job, "Mommy Sunbird"! That's quite a chore, feeding a nectar-eating fledgling!
