Description:

Semi-prostrate plant growing in damp areas on acidic soils. The tuber yields a red dye formerly used for tanning. P. reptans is similar but has creeping runners, larger flowers (upto 35mm rather than 18mm) and leaves with 5-7 leaflets (rather than 3-5).
