Yellow Bumble Bee

Bombus fervidus

Description:

First four abdominal upper back parts are yellow. The back of the head and face are black with yellow marks extending to nearly the end of the legs. A black band is present between the base of wings. The wings are dark gray color. Slight differences between queens, workers and drones.

Habitat:

Spotted on the Discovery Center Trail at Tamarac in a wooded area.

Also known as the golden northern bumble bee.
