Great White Egret

Ardea alba

Habitat:

Sonoran desert by man made lake.

Notes:

I know this is an Egret but what kind!! We usually have two or three around but had a flock of about 30 come in and have been here about a week now! What a treat. The males are strutting and arguing with other males.

Great White Heron, Ardea herodias occidentalis, is a subspecies of Great Blue Heron. I don't see any here (none of the legs are yellow).
Agree that all are Great Egret, Ardea alba egretta.
