Green Lacewing Larva

Description:

I saw it placing lichens on its back, probably for more camouflage. It was tilting its head back through a small break in the debris right above its head. I had always wondered how lacewing larvae cover themselves. Watch it in action here: https://youtu.be/c1Z_0ztciFQ

Habitat:

Maple tree covered in lichens
