Gluvia dorsalis
The only species of Solifugae in the Iberian Peninsula. Not quite a spider, not quite a scorpion, the solifuge belongs to the Arachnida class and it's very little known by most people. Its name "solifuge/solífugo" comes from the junction of "sol" (sun) + "fuga" (flight) meaning that this creature only comes out when the sun doesn't shine. It's a voracious predator and, although it doesn't win any beauty pageants, it's still remarkable to see one as they come as not very common.
Usually arid regions. This one was found near a house, underneath a pile of wood.
