Chroicocephalus novaehollandiae
I saw this cranky gull on the tidal sand flats at Poverty Point in the Great Sandy National Park. These birds have such a range of expressions! : )
Thanks Satyen, this one was a character!!!
Hahaha! Amazing expressions :-)
Thank you Sachin and Mac!
Nice pics Shanna
Wonderful
It's perfect, Martin!! (I wish I could find some info about why the place is called Poverty Point... no luck there, I'm afraid!)
What better place for beggars than poverty point!
Thanks Ava. : )
Wonderful series.
Thanks Jared and Argy! In the first head scoop shot it looks like it has zombie eyes. Freakish-looking thing!!!
Incredible job Shanna. I saw the front pic and thought 'I hope there's a head-scoop shot also' and there it was. :-) They always follow that neck-arch with the head-scoop.
Awesome bird and great pic!!
Thanks Ashish and Sarah!
Fantastic series of photos, and a great record of dominant adult behaviour :-)
