Description:

Possibly the most familiar duck, the male mallard is unmistakable with its dark, iridescent-green head and bright yellow bill. The gray body is sandwiched between a brown breast and black rear with. The tail has a distinctive curl.

Habitat:

The shore of a large Central European lake. Part of a large resident group.

Notes:

Almost all domestic ducks come from this species.
